So, I don’t only make things out of metal. Occasionally I like to make thing from other materials. This is a jewellery box I made earlier this year. It is made from various hardwoods I found lying around my workshop. The joints are all dovetailed and I made the hinges out of wood. I really enjoyed making this, so I thought I would share and I hope you like the pictures.
I will be giving a sandcasting demonstration at the Northcity4 open day. So come an check out the studio and at the same time watch me cast something in sand.
So my workshop now has a lathe. Its an Emco maximat made in Austria. I have now fixed it up and it purrs along nicely. I can't wait to start using it to make some things. I will put up the new things as soon as they are made.
